City officials announced the expected street closures due to the Wawa Welcome America! Festival to celebrate the July Fourth holiday.

Featured in this week's Penn Current, the Penn Vet Working Dog Center is launching a training site for working dogs.  This site will allow the group to have a physical space on campus for training detection dogs, who work with law enforcement, search and rescue, and other national security organizations.  We are proud to report that two of the dogs will be joining the the Penn Police department upon graduation.

 

Penn Parking is renaming its parking facilities—replacing the current number system with descriptive names that correspond to the facilities' geographic locations—to help visitors better locate our parking garages. For instance, Lot 19, located at 34th and Chestnut Streets, will be renamed "Law" to reflect its proximity to Penn Law School. Lot 30, located on the northeast corner of 38th and Walnut Streets, would become "Walnut 38."
The floors in all Penn garages will also sport new names based on University icons and traditions. First floors will be called the "Franklin Floor," second floors, "Quaker," and third floors, "Ivy Day," etc. Signage depicting the floor names is being installed in all garages.
