The Division of Public Safety's Commitment to Penn's Climate Action Plan on Sustainability
The Division of Public Safety understands the importance of sustainability in today’s world. This is why we take great strides in supporting President Gutmann’s Climate Action Plan.
Our vehicle fleet has seen a transition from regular gas consuming vehicles to include both hybrid and electric vehicles. By doing so, drastic changes in gas consumption, CO2 and Carbon Monoxide emissions have been noticed.
Several vehicles in our fleet are also completely electric. Our T3 electric patrol vehicle operates at approximately 10 cents per day with zero emissions!
Efforts within our offices are no different. By enforcing double sided printing to reduce paper consumption, installing hand dryers in bathrooms and utilizing new bottleless water coolers, we are making impacts in all facets of our operation.
