DPS Greets Visitors for our Annual Open House

 

On October 3, 2012, the Division of Public Safety hosted visitors from far and wide to tour our facilities at 4040 Chestnut Street. Guests were introduced to the PennComm communication center, which is the location of our emergency call center and CCTV patrol; toured our fingerprinting processing area and cell blocks; learned about bike safety and our RAD self-defense program; climbed aboard our police motorcycles and T3 vehicle; played along in the FATS simulator, learning appropriate actions for police in high-pressure situations; learned about fire safety first-hand, by learning to utilize a fire extinguisher on a live fire, viewed our EOC (Emergency Operations Center), which is used by our leadership team to manage response during emergency situation; met with the Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) who explained how this volunteer group of students provide essential support across campus; and enjoyed good food and cheer from the entire DPS staff.
