Tucker PAL Special Holiday Celebration
On December 6th, Penn student volunteers joined with kids from the Tucker PAL Center to serve refreshments, lead activities, and distribute gifts to celebrate the holiday season. Penn students and members of the Department of Public Safety, and Philadelphia police officers joined in the after-school fun, food and festivities. Maureen S. Rush, vice president for Public Safety and Superintendent of the Penn Police Department, Lt. Evelyn Cintron, PAL commanding officer, Police Officers Cassandra Parks-Devaughn and Bruno Esteves, directors of the Tucker PAL Center and others participated in the events…and Santa, who was on hand to present each child a gift!
The Police Athletic League of Philadelphia, PAL, is “Cops Helping Kids” – Philadelphia Police Officers, supported by civilians, offer sports and other programs to youth in centers in some of the city’s highest crime and lowest income neighborhoods.
