UPennAlert Emergency Notification System Options for Students
This morning, the UPennAlert registration system underwent an exciting change. Students will now be in the system at all times, but can opt to be removed from the alert system during the summer break, from Commencement to the start of New Student Orientation.
The below message was sent via email from the Provost and Executive Vice President, announcing the change:
To All Penn Students:
Starting on March 23, 2016, students will receive UPennAlerts year round through their Penn email account. If you have provided a cell phone number in your UPennAlert profile in PennInTouch, you will also receive text message alerts.
If you would prefer to not receive these alerts during the summer (between Commencement and New Student Orientation), you may elect out of this service through your PennInTouch account.
Once selected, the below option will appear that will allow you to opt out of summertime alerts:

The effectiveness of UPennAlert via personal electronic devices depends upon faculty, staff and students providing accurate and up-to-date personal contact information. We urge you to partner with the University in registering and updating your cell phone number, as well as other emergency contact information, so that University officials can communicate with you wherever you happen to be.
