2022 Security Magazine Benchmark Report – DPS Recognitions

The Division of Public Safety participates in Security magazine’s 2022 Security Benchmark Report.

The Security Benchmark Report provides security leaders across all sectors and organizations with valuable data that they can use to compare their programs with others.

DPS is honored to be recognized in two areas. The first, as a leading “Security Team Using Metrics”, shows the impact of data analysis to provide proactive support and to improve response and outcomes. DPS is also highlighted as a “DEI Achiever: Security Making Strides in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)”. The division endeavors to build continued connections with the community and increased diversity and outreach, dedicating a Captain of DEI to oversee these initiatives.

Vice President Kathleen Shields Anderson’s comments were included in this year’s report. “The University of Pennsylvania’s public safety team expanded its transparency and inclusion efforts and continues to foster strong connections with the community it serves,” stated Vice President Anderson, who also highlighted the promotion of Captain Nicole McCoy, “As part of this effort, the organization advanced a new position of Captain of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.”

DPS is grateful to participate in this annual benchmark report, as a useful tool to share knowledge and expertise with our peers. Our submission highlights the innovative ways we are moving our approach to safety into its next era.
