A Fun Basketball Carnival Held at the Historic Palestra with Philly PAL

On Monday, February 17, 2014, the University of Pennsylvania and the Police Athletic League of Philadelphia (Philly PAL) hosted the first annual PAL Basketball Carnival – a one day event held at Penn’s historic Palestra, which involved 200 children in wholesome fitness-based activities under the guidance of their coaches and mentors, the PAL Police Unit.

Event sponsors and volunteers included Philly PAL, Penn DPS and Penn Athletics, the Penn Chapter of Fiji Fraternity, The Philadelphia 76ers and Mr. Magic Family Entertainment. PAL kids enjoyed an assortment of activities including basketball skills stations led by Sixers instructors, basketball arcade games, a Connect Four station, dance and arts stations, mini golf, airbrush stencil art, balloon and magic stations, and more.
