Another Fun PAL Day at the Penn Ice Rink!

The Penn Ice Rink hosted over 200 area youth for an afternoon of skating and pizza at the Penn Ice Rink/Class of 1923 Area on Thursday, April 11th.  The University of Pennsylvania Divisions of Business Services and Public Safety sponsored the event, along with a grant by the Coca-Cola Company. PAL kids are provided a safe and fun evening, learning to ice skate. The kids interacted with Penn Police and Philadelphia Police officers and other volunteers. The Penn Ice Hockey Clubs and Figure Skating Team, St. Joe’s Prep Hockey Team and Snyder Hockey members assisted the kids on the ice, showing the PAL kids a few of their tricks. In addition to free ice time, the kids were provided with skates, pizza, soft drinks and more – at no cost.  Each of PAL’s 19 centers were represented at this event, with attendance of over 200 PAL kids.

Maureen S. Rush, Vice President for Public Safety, stated of the event, “We love bringing PAL kids to the Penn campus, where they can have a safe, fun and nurturing experience.”
