Art & Criminal Justice: The Intersection of Faith

On Friday, January 18, 2013, the Division of Public Safety and the Office of the Chaplain sponsored a panel discussion titled Art & Criminal Justice: The Intersection of Faith.  This presentation was held as a part of the University of Pennsylvania Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,  Commemorative Symposium on Social Change.

The lunchtime discussion with Jane Golden, Executive Director of the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, Vice President Maureen S. Rush of the Division of Public Safety, and Rev. Charles Howard of the Penn Chaplain’s Office on the intersection of faith and the use of art in restorative justice was uplifting and informative. Ms. Golden spoke about restorative justice practices used help to unify communities affected by crime and to transform community members divided by the criminal justice system.
