DPS Commendation Ceremony

On Thursday, April 14, 2022, the Division of Public Safety will hold the DPS Commendation Ceremony at the Carol Ware Lobby and Roy Auditorium in Claire Fagin Hall. The Commendation Ceremony offers an opportunity to celebrate and honor the work of our dedicated law enforcement and public safety professionals.

Commendations of merit and commendatory letters will be presented to members of DPS including the University of Pennsylvania Police Department (including the Detective Unit), the PennComm Center (Emergency Communications Center), and Allied Universal Security. Letters of recognition are also presented to honor members of our local community.

The Vice President for Public Safety will administered the Oath of Office to our newest members of the Police Department, as well as to newly promoted officers.

DPS will also offer a special presentation to the graduating members of the Penn Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT). The MERT is the University of Pennsylvania’s student-run volunteer emergency medical services organization, providing care to students, faculty, staff and community members.
