DPS hosts an inspiring presentation by ACHIEVEability as part of the Commemorative Symposium for Social Change

On Tuesday, January 28, 2014, the Division of Public Safety hosted an informative presentation by the local non-profit organization ACHIEVEability at the LGBT Center.  The panel presentation was held as part of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Symposium on Social Change. Titled “Breaking the Cycle of Poverty through Education and Social Change”, ACHIEVEability’s Director of Self-Sufficiency Jamila Harris-Morrison gave a thoughtful presentation highlighting the mechanisms for change facilitated by the organization. The talk was concluded with a call to action – ACHIEVEability appreciates volunteer support from the community. To learn more, and to volunteer, visit their website here.
