DPS Spring Commendation Ceremony Honors Officers and Partners in Safety
Public Safety conducted the Spring Commendation Ceremony on Wednesday, April 4th, in the Ann L. Roy Auditorium with a reception held in the Carol W. Ware Lobby in Claire M. Fagin Hall. The Division of Public Safety, in collaboration with the Undergraduate Assembly (UA) and the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly (GAPSA), honored members of DPS, our safety partners Allied Universal, the University City District, the Philadelphia Police Department, the Philadelphia Fire Department, and members of the Penn Community, for their dedication, commitment, and outstanding service.
Vice President for Public Safety and Superintendent of Penn Police, Maureen S. Rush led the ceremony which included remarks by Executive Vice President Craig Carnaroli, University Chaplain Rev. Charles L. Howard, PhD, and a special presentation to the graduating members of the University’s Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) who were recognized for their dedication by Chief of Fire and Emergency Services, Gene Janda. The UA was represented by Michelle Xu, President, and Sam Shea, and GAPSA was represented by Vice President Rebecca Umbach.
