Graduation Day for Socks and Officer Wesley

On December 20, 2013, Officer Julie Wesley and her K9 partner, Socks, graduated from the Atlantic County Police Training Center in K9 Scent Class #29. The ceremony, which took place at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, included 18 law enforcement graduates from the greater Philadelphia area. All graduates are now certified in ordinance detection and are trained to search for several different types of explosives. This 13 week training program tested the K9 teams through many different environments to prepare them for the real life conditions they will face in their assignments. 
Officer Wesley and K9 Officer Socks are the inaugural K9 team for the Penn Police Department. Socks is also a graduate of the first class from the Penn Vet Working Dog Center, which was founded in September 2012.
