PAL Basketball Championships at the Palestra

On Monday, February 18, 2013, the hardwood of the Palestra of the University of Pennsylvania again hosted a President’s Day tradition – The 2013 PAL Fitz-Dixon Citywide Basketball Championships. 

The Police Athletic League reports that this PAL championship event has have given rise to stars such as Olympic gold medalist Dawn Staley, NBA stars Aaron McKie, the late Eddie Griffin, Flip Murray and college sensations Maureece Rice and Sean Singletary along with Temple University’s second all-time leading scorer (with 2,099 points) Lynn Greer.  The program currently boasts 5,000 youngsters, both boys and girls, and is PAL’s largest program.
