Penn Police Officers Go Above and Beyond for a Young Patient at Children’s Hospital
University of Pennsylvania police officers Ryan James and Gary Cooper were confronted with a difficult case recently. Arianna Mae Lewis, a 21-month-old cancer patient undergoing treatment at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, had her donated iPad stolen. She used the iPad during her long treatment sessions, and it allowed her the ability to view her family and pets from afar. After meeting with her family and filing the theft report, the officers returned to the hospital to visit with Arianna, and to give her James’ personal iPad.
Arianna’s mother, Katrina Knott took to social media to thank the officers for their kindness. The officers were humbled by her words and feel they have Arianna to thank. We are very proud of the actions of our officers, they exemplify the attitude of the entire Division of Public Safety.
