Attempted robbery with weapon | 4000 block of Baltimore Avenue

Penn Police responded to a report of an attempted robbery in the 4000 block of Baltimore Avenue. Upon arrival, the complainant stated they were approached by the suspects who demanded her property at point of handgun. The suspects then fled east on Baltimore Avenue towards 39th Street. No physical injuries were reported by the complainant.

Upon arrival, the complainant stated they were approached by the suspects who demanded her property at point of handgun. The suspects then fled east on Baltimore Avenue towards 39th Street. No physical injuries were reported by the complainant.

The suspects were described as:

Suspect 1: White male, in late teens, smaller build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, carrying a handgun.

Suspect 2: Black male, in late teens, smaller build, wearing a black jacket.

Special Property Checks over Winter Break!

DPS Special Checks of Residential Property:

During the busy travel time of Winter Break DPS provides free Special Checks of Residential Properties for anyone living within the Penn Patrol zone.  If you or someone you know will be traveling over the Penn Winter Break, please encourage them to register for our property checks.  The Penn Police will conduct special checks during Winter Break: between 5 p.m. Friday, December 20, to 7 p.m. Sunday, January 14. Students, faculty and staff who live within the following geographical boundaries—Schuylkill River to 43rd Street and Baltimore Avenue to Market Street—may register their residence for Special Checks during the period it will be vacant. Penn Police officers will periodically check the exterior of the property for signs of criminal activity or security breaches. If any are discovered, the officers will take appropriate action with subsequent notification to the listed occupant.
