Police Activity | 40th and Baltimore Avenue

Police Activity in the area of 40th and Baltimore Avenue. Philadelphia and Penn Police responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of 40th and Baltimore, upon arrival they found evidence of a car accident and evidence of gunshots being fired. No injuries were reported.

Report of Gunshots Fired | 4000 block of Market Street

Philadelphia And Penn Police responded to a report of gunshots being fired in the area of 4000 block of Market Street. Upon arrival, Police discovered the complainant, who had been shot.  The unaffiliated complainant was transported to the hospital for treatment.  Witnesses described the suspect as a Black male wearing all dark clothing. He was last seen heading westbound on Market Street.

Robbery | 3900 block of Sansom Street

Penn Police responded to a report of a robbery by a group of individuals in the 3900 block of Sansom Street, near 40th Street. The group of 10-15 juveniles approached the complainant on the street, then approximately 5 of those juveniles surrounded him, punched him, and took his belongings. The group fled the scene heading east on Sansom Street, then north on 39th Street. No physical injuries were reported by the complainant.

Gunshots Reported | 34th and Market Streets

Penn Police responded to a report of gunshots being fired between two vehicles at the intersection of 34th and Market Streets. Upon arrival, they interviewed witnesses who described the vehicles involved as a dark gray Dodge Charger and a maroon Nissan sedan. The suspects fled the scene heading south on 34th from Market Street.

Attempted burglary | 4000 block of Spruce Street

Penn Police responded to a report of an attempted burglary in the 4000 block of Spruce Street. Upon arrival, the complainants stated they heard someone enter the building, and they immediately called police. The suspect then fled the scene without taking any property. No physical injuries were reported by the complainants. The complainants described the suspect as: Black male with a beard, 5'8" -5'9" tall, thin build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a dark backpack.

Robbery with implied weapon | 3500 block of Chestnut Street

Penn Police responded to a report of a robbery with implied weapon at the Sheraton Hotel in the 3500 block of Chestnut Street. Upon arrival, the complainant stated the suspects entered the Hotel and removed the ATM machine from the lobby. One suspect motioned to his waistband and implied he had a weapon.  The suspects then fled westbound on Chestnut Street. No physical injuries were reported by the complainant.

Bank Robbery | 3800 block of Chestnut Street

Penn Police responded to a report of a robbery at the Santander Bank at 3802 Chestnut Street. The complainant stated they were approached by the suspect, who demanded money by showing a demand note. The suspect then fled west in the 3900 block of Chestnut Street. No physical injuries were reported by the complainant. The complainant described the suspect as a Black male, in his 40s, approx. 5'10" tall, wearing gray and blue striped ski cap, black pants and black sneakers. Was initially wearing a burgundy St. Joe's Hawks sweatshirt - it was removed - now wearing a white tee shirt. The suspect was last seen in the area of 3900 Walnut Street wearing a white tee shirt, black pants, and black sneakers.

Robbery with weapon | 500 block of  S. 41st Street

Philadelphia And Penn Police responded to a report of a robbery with weapon in the 500 block of  S. 41st Street. Upon arrival, Police discovered that the suspect approached the complainant while in the area of 500 block of  S. 41st Street and demanded money. The complainant screamed and the suspect fled without taking anything. He then encountered a second complainant nearby and took her phone. The suspect's weapon discharged while leaving the area. No physical injuries reported. The complainants described the suspect as a Black male, thin build, 5'9", wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, all black clothing, and a black ski mask carrying a handgun. He was last seen heading south on 41st Street towards Woodland Avenue.

Motor vehicle theft by point of weapon | 3900 block of Chestnut Street

Penn Police responded to a report of a vehicle theft in the 3900 block of Chestnut Street. Upon arrival, the complainant stated he was approached by the suspect while the complainant was picking up a food delivery. The suspect demanded the complainant’s delivery vehicle by point of handgun. The suspect then fled north on 39th Street in a 2022 silver Toyota RAV4, with PA License Plate LRC8470. No physical injuries were reported by the complainant. The complainant described the suspect as a Black male wearing all black clothing, carrying a black handgun.

Retail Robbery | 3200 block of Chestnut Street

Penn Police responded to a report of a retail robbery in the 3200 block of Chestnut Street. The suspect walked into a retail establishment in the 3200 block of Chestnut Street and demanded money while implying he had a weapon. He then took money from the store and fled on foot. He was last seen traveling westbound on Chestnut Street. No physical injuries were reported by the complainant. The complainant described the suspect as a medium complected black male in his 20s, 5'8" tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, stone washed blue jeans, and a black mask.

The suspect then fled south on 33rd Street and then west on Chestnut Street riding a bicycle. No physical injuries were reported by the complainant. The suspect was described by the complainant as a Black male, thin build, 5'8" tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and a black ski mask.

Robbery | 3600 block of Chestnut Street

Penn Police responded to a report of a robbery in the 3600 block of Chestnut Street. Upon arrival, the complainant stated he was approached by the suspect while the complainant was making a delivery. The suspect demanded merchandise from the delivery vehicle. The suspect then fled east on Chestnut Street towards 34th Street in a gold colored crossover SUV. No physical injuries were reported by the complainant. The complainant described the suspect as a Black male, 6’ tall, short hair, dark complected, wearing a white surgical-style mask and black jumpsuit.
